Enrichment
Friday Afternoon Enrichment at Rivers ESC
Inspiring Confidence, Building Skills, Creating Opportunities
At Rivers ESC, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to discover their strengths, develop new skills and experience activities that broaden their horizons.
Our Friday Afternoon Enrichment Programme is designed to help students build confidence, develop positive relationships and explore talents and interests that may continue beyond their time at the Centre. Through a range of engaging activities, students gain valuable life skills such as teamwork, communication, resilience and problem-solving, all while having fun and experiencing success.
Mentoring and Personal Development
Each Friday afternoon begins with a dedicated mentoring session. Students meet with their mentor for a 20-minute one-to-one discussion, providing a supportive opportunity to:
- Celebrate achievements
- Discuss any concerns or challenges
- Reflect on the week
- Set achievable goals
- Build positive relationships with trusted adults
These sessions help students feel supported, valued and prepared for the week ahead.
Exploring New Experiences
Following their mentoring session, students take part in an enrichment activity of their choice for the duration of the half-term.
Whether they are developing an existing interest or trying something completely new, enrichment activities encourage students to step outside their comfort zone, discover hidden talents and develop hobbies that may continue into later life.
